ROB SHAFTEL
Rob Shaftel is V.P. of Development at Leftfield Pictures, in charge of the company's program development slate. Since joining Leftfield in November 2009, Shaftel has overseen development of series for top cable networks including History Channel's hit series American Restoration, MTV's Moving In, and Oddities on the Science Channel. Rob has also developed series currently in production for A&E, Bravo, TLC and HGTV among others.
Prior to Leftfield, Rob spent two years in Program Development at Discovery, developing a vast range of projects that ran as series, limited series and specials, including HowStuffWorks, the Drug Nation series of specials, When Animals Strike and many more. Additionally, he served as a producer on such Discovery shows as Destroyed in Seconds and Verminators. Before Discovery, he worked in development at the Spike cable network.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina.
